Life moved so fast as soon as I was born. I had to adjust to the storm before it swallowed me whole. Thankfully, a caring teacher pointed my energy in the right direction, setting me up to live a lifetime devoted to serving others.
Just after moving out of New York, my parents got divorced. It was tough on my mom because she had to work a full-time job during the day and raise a family on her own at night. On top of that, we moved from state to state countless times, and it felt like we could never fully settle down in our own home before we’d be on the road again. Life was chaotic, and I had no sense of direction.
I floated around with the wrong crowd in junior high, and I did not make the wisest decisions for myself. I was spiraling out of control, but I couldn’t care enough to notice. My Spanish teacher, however, noticed. She also perceived my potential, motivating her to set me on the right track. I was advised to join Model UN, connecting me to engaged and diligent students.
At last, I’d found a proper sense of direction! In just a few weeks’ time, my behavior changed for the better. Not only did I see the beginning of an improvement in my poor decision making, but thanks to my Spanish teacher’s influence, I eventually decided to make teaching my career too.
Now that I felt I was finally on the right track, I wanted to speed through that track without delay. I became entirely too focused on my future, wanting desperately to get my life started in the real world right away. At Indiana State University, I completed my master’s program in music education in just half the normal time. While I am proud of this achievement, I regret never taking a moment to appreciate the present moment and my days in college. I missed out on many memories due to my work-oriented mindset, especially in Indiana, a community-oriented state where festivals were held nearly every weekend.
Life was fairly calm during my years as a music education teacher. I raised a family with my wife in Las Vegas, who taught music education as well. For 20 years I was finally enjoying the present moment, but the ambitious side of me still craved more. I wanted more financial freedom while still making a positive impact on people, hopefully an impact as life-changing as my Spanish teacher was for me.
During the summer of 2013, my wife and I began the process of selling our home. Opportunely, a friend of mine was our REALTOR®, but unfortunately, he did not assist us through the process as well as we would have liked. We were often thrown papers to sign without any proper explanation, making an already tedious process even more confusing and stressful. I thought to myself, “There’s got to be a better way to do this.” At that moment, I knew I could be a REALTOR® who would provide a world-class service experience to my clients.
Not long after, I enrolled in real estate classes and got my REALTOR® license. Throughout the coming years, I graduated from salesperson to managing a brokerage. Looking back, I am so proud of how far I’ve come. It compels me to look toward a future in which I still have the opportunity to grow and make the greatest impact I can, including an impact with aspiring homeowners.
What remains my favorite part of the job is breaking the news to clients when they finally get the keys to their specially chosen home. It’s an incredibly joyous moment that never fails to put a smile on all of our faces.
Buying and selling a home is an arduous process that requires the proper guidance to ensure a buyer is happy with and educated on their decisions. Those decisions will not only have an impact on you but also on your family. With my teaching background, I am willing and able to clearly explain to my clients when to anticipate pain points during the home buying/selling process. This allows you to put your trust in me fully, not just as your REALTOR®, but as your navigator while you pilot your way to your new home.
Additionally, being a real estate investor myself, I keep up with all up-to-date information so that I can always provide you with the best investment knowledge and properties. In Las Vegas and surrounding cities, I am here to provide you with first-class service because you deserve nothing less. I’m committed to serving you and your unique goals as your lifelong real estate guide.
Sincerely,
Paul Rich
